Did you know....

That a root canal is also called, more scientifically, "endodontic therapy"?
Did you know that dentists who perform this procedure went to school 2 years more than the average, run-of-the-mill dentist?
Did you know that some of them look like the doctor on "Doctors"?
Would this encourage you to request a root canal?
Or even an "endodontic therapy"?
Just wondering.

Root Canal

Sound kinda like a "root cellar", doesn't it? Maybe a place to store potatoes and carrots in a barge or something. Actually, of course, it refers to something done to a tooth in your mouth. The term seems to strike fear into the ears and uttermost being of any red-blooded American adult. It's really not a scary procedure; it just sounds like it would be. Maybe we should change the name to something innocuous, like "tooth spa" or "rainbow dental". Anyway, that's what I'm getting this evening at 6:30pm. Did you know some dentists have evening hours? How educational this day has been!

LLBean Edition

It's new (to me)! It's blue! It's my new, blue, 2008 Forester Subaru SUV.
I really love these easy-to-load cars.
AND, it has a "moon-roof".
Why they call it that, and not a sun roof, I have no idea.
Maybe it's more mysterious.
Anyway, the cockpit is just about the same as the one we traded in, so I'm at home and happy.
AND, there's no rust on the wheel covers.
:-)

Casts, Take Two

Nick did get a cast, so he chose orange, since it is his favorite color.
My husband, whose broken ankle I neglected to mention, chose camoflage for his cast. Just because he could.
I'm sure I had no choice in my cast. It started out white, and by the time it came off, I'd guess it was "basic grunge".
Happy 9/12 to all my Tea Party friends!

Dem Bones

My six-year-old grandson celebrated Labor Day by swinging on a rope in the backyard and somehow falling, breaking two bones in his right wrist. He just has a splint and a sling, so must be his medical people feel he will heal nicely with that support.
My grandma, Nick's great-great-grandma Geneva, also broke her wrist. She was much older, and I'm not sure if it was her arm or her wrist. She had been out in the barn looking for hens' nests and eggs. I remember that they had to cut off her wide wedding band because her finger was swollen, so must be she broke her left appendage. I think she had a cast on it, but that was a long time ago.
When I was about three, my right leg just above the ankle was broken for me.
The story goes that I was showing a tiny kitten to a very large work horse. Neither of them appreciated the introduction, and the horse reared after being scratched on the nose, and came down on my leg. He was very selective, considering what he could have landed on! Thank you, Barney!

The K's

It became evident to me, over several months of communication, that my Facebook friends include many names beginning with "K". I have no idea how I accumulated so many. They don't seem to be from the same decade, although they are from the same century. The are all female. Is it because my moniker begins with "L"? Is there some sort of atmospheric condition? Maybe some sort of mystical connection?
Anyway, I'm glad to know and list as friends on Facebook Kandi, Katelyn, Kathryn, Katie, Kelli, Kendall, Kerry, Kimberly, 2 Karens, and 3 Kathys.
