Brass

"The King's Brass" was another of our pleasures on our mini-trip. I had heard about them for a long time, but their concerts were always too far away for my practical side to allow my artistic side to attend. This year and this month they were again to perform at the North Syracuse Baptist Church--and that was right on our way home. How perfect!
When we stopped at the church at 5pm, no one was around. It is a big church and, more importantly, it has a lot of parking space. I finally ran into a guy who told us we could park our bus in the back lot, and we could stay there overnight.
I guess he was somebody important, because no one ever asked us who we were or why we were there.
The concert was attended principally by Sr. citizens. They were all congenial and enthusiastic, even my husband. (We have a tubist in the family, so he has heard a lot of them.)
The group consists of 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, a tuba, and a keyboardist. Tim Zimmerman is the sole remaining member of the band; the rest have moved out and others have moved in. Their repertoire is Christian, patriotic, and big band sound. They do well at all of them.
If you ever get a chance, attend a (free, donation only) concert by "The King's Brass"! You'll get more than your money's worth.
