Random

"In My Shoes" is a collection of random questions, presented by the random person.
How come the pills that go down hardest are the ones best for you?
Why are munchy, crunchy vegetables the last item on our food wish list?
Who invented "Facebook" and what was the purpose?
How would one research the topic "ships' cats"?
Which is better to prepare for a church dinner--one turkey or two fat hens?
If you hit a sale of "A Dozen Eggs for 99c", how many dozen would you get?
What if the sign said "Only 4 per customer"?
If your pastor's wife said she would meet you at church Saturday morning at 10 to decorate the tables for the dinner, would you expect to see her there?
Does your coldslaw recipe take 2 cups of sugar?
What is the best way to prepare a cookbook?
If two helicopters crashed, is it better to know that the cause was "enemy fire"?
What better use could you be making of your time?
Why don't I just take a nap?!

Travel

Visiting in Northern New York State can be hazardous in February.
Our Florida friends made it here from their former stop in Richmond, VA, in one day.
Today they left, heading back that way.
They visited relatives near Binghamton, and then continued on.
They are spending the night in Harrisburg, PA, having driven in the snow for "about two hours".
They don't know it, but they traveled through "lake effect snow" and survived.
Prayers were offered, and answered!

Angelfood Ministries

Who wants to save money on groceries?
If you're one of those, do I have a deal for you.
Check out angelfoodministries.com online.
This organization is a faith-based group that buys good food in bulk in order to share the savings with anyone who wants to be involved.
The deal is that you check out the month's menu, then order and pay for what you want at least a week ahead of delivery.
On delivery day, you go pick up your pre-paid food and take it home and eat it, cook it, freeze it. We got our first order today, so tonight we tried three of the "senior convenience meals". They were attractive, tasty, and nutritious.
Try it; you might like it!!

"Snow Day"

Being under a snow watch gave us opportunity to read.
I finished "The Shack", which came highly recommended as something to read and ponder.
I suggest it to you, dear Reader, in the hopes it will connect with your inmost being.
Let me know your reactions.

Thrift

We have been rummaging in thrift shops.
It's fun to find something we "always wanted", at such an encouraging price.
Even a souvenir from Kentucky purchased in a NY thrift shop is useful, if it contains wisdom or usefulness.
We're not proud.

Prep

Okay, what do YOU do to get ready for company?
Shine the silver? Sweep the cobwebs? Make the cake?
I find my thoughts go first to food...that's fun and so much easier than cleaning.
However, I guess the shower will be usable and the pillows plumped.
Looking forward to a fun time with friends from Florida...at this time of year, even!
Praying for smooth roads and clear driving for them....

Valentines Past

Most Memorable: Fourth Grade--A BIG valentine card, one that probably cost at least a dollar, from a boy who was so shy he never talked to me. I felt so guilty, because I didn't want to be his "girlfriend", and I didn't want to hurt his feelings. We never mentioned it. And that was over 50 years ago. I'm glad he found a true love, God, a prestigious job, and raised an outstanding family.
